Biotreatment
World clean water resources are deteriorating. To preserve and improve our environment for the coming generations, increasing pollution load by industry must be accompanied by suitable treatment facilities.
Biodegradation of surfactant Contaminants in Industrial Wastewater
Wastewater discharged from detergent processing plants contain high concentration of surfactants and other organic contaminants. Such wastewater must be treated before discharge to municipal sewage treatment plants to avoid foaming and toxicity problems. Biotreatment is the first choice economically, provided that this technology is efficient and safe for the specific wastewater problems.
BIODALIA is offering a novel biotreatment process for Biodegradation of surfactants in industrial wastewater.
BIODALIA process is treating industrial wastewater with a high concentration of surfactants, including anionic surfactants such as Linear Alkylbenzene Sulphonate (LAS) and nonionic surfactants such as Alkyl phenol Ethoxylate (APE).
Typical values are up to 20,000 ppm COD and 3000 ppm LAS.
BIODALIA process based on three principles:
- Selection and adaptation of bacterial consortium, that achive complete mineralization of contaminant surfacetants.
- Immobilization of the bacterial consortium with high surface area.
- Equipment design for efficient aeration while avoiding foam formation.
The technology is patented.
